NCCJ Youth Programming
Changing in the Middle
What is Changing in the Middle?
Changing in the Middle is an educational leadership based program for middle school students grades 6-8. In the initial meeting with the students students learn about topics such anti-bullying by walking through activities centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Participants discuss positive decision making, and seeking guidance from trusted adults. As the prevalence of cyberbullying has increased, NCCJ has added meaningful programming on how to respond to cyberbullying.
At select sites, based on needs and requests of the schools, NCCJ holds monthly leadership groups with a small group of students to further dive into these subjects and develop plans to see change in their schools and communities.
